What a privilege it is to be a servant for Jesus! Each morning as I awake to the crowing of the roosters, I smile and give thanks for another day to be His hands and feet!
I then enjoy my quite time with a hot cup of King Cole tea and reading my devotions, and talk to God!
It is not long and the city comes alive for another day. I listen to different sounds for the roosters have stopped. Now I hear people talking as they walk past my house while off in the distance I hear the horns of the cars as they communicate to each other.
I prepare for the day and soon leave the house to visit the girls and become apart of the morning adventurous drive. Now, all I hear are horns yelling at each other and people rushing to get where they need to go. When I get to the jail, the noise changes. No more horns. As I entered through the guarded metal door I heard delightful sounds. Girls were giggling and talking, preparing for their day. I visit each room to say good morning! In each room the girls have decorated their walls with bible verses. I take my time and study the words. Sometimes I get to sit down and read from my bible to them. Last week a girl came up to me and said she has a favourite verse: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” I am encouraged of what I see and hear in the girl’s jail. I know that Jesus is working on their hearts and they are healing. On one of the painting on the wall that I saw made me smile. “To stand before your life you have to be on your knees before God.” I can’t think of another place than to be on knees.
We are all important because God loves and values us. Our worth comes from him. As we receive His love and find our true worth in Him, then we can truly enjoy our purpose in life and live in contentment.
