Why Honduras

StreetsShortly after coming to LifeBridge Community Church in 2009, Anna began feeling she would be going to Honduras as a missionary. Her passion was greatly enhanced after meeting Alvin and Nelly Anderson of Manos Extendidas in Honduras when they came to Halifax to begin a missions partnership with LifeBridge.

During their recent short-term mission trip to Honduras in 2013, God began to enlarge this passion and open the hearts of both Anna and Gordon, for the people of Honduras and to those working to reach them for Jesus. For Anna, who herself, spent 6 years in an orphanage from ages 4 to 10 and experienced abuse during her youth, He opened her heart to the the many children and youth of Honduras who themselves have experienced neglect, abandonment, abuse and to those who are working to show them Jesus’ love.

For Gordon, God opened his heart to the churches in Honduras who minister to children on the streets and in the orphanages and to the children and youth themselves.  He also has a burden for the plight of the pastors and leaders who are serving in these extremely difficult circumstances.

Since returning from Honduras, God has effortlessly opened doors to make this ministry transition develop seamlessly and it is obvious to us that He has big plans to use us to change lives in Honduras.
