Times have changed in mailing and receiving letters as a missionary. These days I keep in touch with family and friends by the help of technology. In a blink of an eye letters can go from Honduras to Canada or the States and as quickly receive a letter comes back. Each day I use my computer for communication through scanning letters that I receive from the girls in jail to their sponsor families. The families email me their letters I print them off and deliver them to the girls. I love seeing the smiles on their faces. It is so important for both the girls and their families to keep in touch. Today as I enter the jail I was welcome with hugs, kisses and letters. I slip the letters in my bible and walk upstairs to see more girls. As I walk down the hall I see a young girl writing in a book. She said mommy Anna I have a letter. You do to whom? Well it is for my father. I don’t know his address so I am keeping it here close by me. You can read it if you want. I climbed up on the top of her bunk bed and got comfortable and she presented me the letter. I am still not good translating Spanish to English but I understand her letter. This letter is for her Heavenly Father Jesus. She is thanking Him for knocking on her heart. She is asking for protection from His angels. Asking for forgiveness. I start to tear up. I said, “Can I have this to show others the Love  you have for Jesus?” I told her that God has a wonderful plan for her future when she leaves the jail.
One of her favourite passages is Ephesians 5:1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore,as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
I have seen this girl accept the Lord asked for forgiveness and she is on the road to healing. She has faith that God will take care her past. We all have a past but thank God we have a future. You will be healed because of the healer that lives inside of you!
Please pray for the girls, I would love to see more letters like this!
